Making a Connection

Currently, their is racial inequality in the form of stereotypes. Some people believe Mexicans are taking low-paying jobs, and so many people believe that their unemployment is to be blamed on the Mexicans. Others believe that all middle-eastern peoples are terrorists, and therefore, cannot get jobs or housing, as they will blow up the neighborhoods.

10 Interesting Things I've learned

10 things I've learned from reading this book are:

• Those of higher class depend on the lower class for their situation
• Those of higher class get more benefits than those in lower class
• In the justice system those of higher class get better lawyers
• Men always make more money than women
• Those who are white tend to make more money than those of other races
• Men tend to have better paying jobs than women
• In the workplace, women are often harassed, and often times, this harassment is ignored or not reported
• Occasionally, restaurants may make 'obese' customers pay extra, believing that they will eat more.
• Airlines will sometimes make 'obese' people buy two seats.
• Gay couples are often stereotyped in religions, and are seen as having only 'promiscuous sex'.
